Here at ReverbFuzzbox we have bought and sold many pedals over the years. Now a financially stable(ish) grown-up, we are tentatively trying to collect Danelectro pedals without breaking the bank.
Why Danelectro? Well there’s something about the brand that just makes us happy – the formica 50s style diner / hotrod design, the brilliant twang of the guitars, and the fact they sell retro 50s 9v batteries – they just stomp on our choruses and fill us with overdrive. Here is our little pedal museum. It’s very much a work in progress, we have the ones in bold but not the ones in not bold..
We highly recommend Josh Scott’s videos on Danelectro pedals – a brief history of the pedals and a demo of the whole mini pedal / food range.
Original Pedal Range
These pedals are BIG. Like, you could do some damage with one.
Cool Cat is a lush chorus. Takes two batteries! 18v!
Dan-Echo is a reverby simulated tape echo. So pretty. The Lo / Hi switch takes you between slapback style echo and long delays.
Daddy O has some proper gnarly OD tones.
Dan-O-Matic Tuner. Not Exciting. Given that Danelectro went on to create Snark Tuners, we can at least say it was a step in an amazing directpion.
Fab Tone Distortion genuinely might be my favourite distortion pedal. It’s probably a fuzz and that would explain a lot.
